  • The Onion, Food Stories, And More
    • I have some good stuff for you this week, and all of it is from the video podcast section of the iTunes Store. The free section on the main page of the iTunes Store really hasn't changed much, except for songs, in about 2 weeks now. (Wassup wit dat, Apple?)

  • NASA, Raving
    • We iPod users are a lucky bunch because much of the videos that NASA has offered on its varied missions and accomplishments can be found as free downloads at the iTunes Store in the Video Podcast section. Raving, a free short movie is also available at the iTunes Store, along with much more.

  • Ninjas, Dancing Dirty, and Ghost Gobbling
    • You know what? I've been doing this all wrong. For weeks now I've been telling you all about the free videos that appear weekly on the iTunes Store. That was OK and all, but the freebies I've been looking at is hardly all there is. It's like looking at the tip of an iceberg and saying, "gee, it's kinda small, ain't it?"

  • Go Healthy Challenge, Pooh and Tigger, Too
    • According to The American Obesity Association a bit over one third of all American kids between the ages of 6 and 11 are overweight, and 15% of our kids are considered to be obese. • Big Ideas, NG Shorts, & More

  • Human Giants, The Naked Brothers Band, And More
    • Imagine a show that is part Jackass up to the point where the stunts are done, then at that point we get the nod and wink so we know that that car did really send that guy fifty feet into the air. Human Giants: Mind Explosion is kind of like what I just described, but it's actually funny.

  • Spotlight 25 and Acceptable.tv
    • I found the Lifetime special Spotlight 25 one of this week's free iTunes offerings, to be interesting. While its audience will primarily be women, I think twenty-something guys could learn a lot by watching the show. Acceptable.tv, another one of this week's free iTunes downloads, brings a different question to mind: "Why would anyone find Acceptable.tv funny?"

  • Raines and Andy Milonakis
    • It seems you can't spit without hitting a TV cop, and if you did you'd likely get a ticket. So what do the folks at NBC do? They create yet another cop show...

    • What do a bumbling middle-aged private eye, U.S. National Parks, and Stephen King all have in common? You can find them all at the iTunes Store.

  • El Tigre, Blood Ties
    • Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids aired for 12 years before being syndicated, and you can still hear that "Hey, hey, HEY!" on Saturday mornings if you check around. There have been many cartoons since Fat Albert that featured racially diverse characters, but the new Nickelodeon cartoon, El Tigre, is, in some respect, like Fat Albert.

  • The Black Donnelys and Lost
    • The Black Donnellys premiered this week on NBC. The pilot episode, which is a free download on The iTunes Store, is a lot of fun once you can get pass the Mies (JimMie, TomMie, Lou..., well, you get the idea).

  • Jericho and Ugly Betty
    • Imagine, if you will, an updated version of Alas, Babylon, where the nuclear attack is by terrorists, and the town, Jericho instead of Fort Repose, is in Kansas, not Florida. Keep all of the suspicion, intrigue, relationships, and tragedies, but kick it up a notch by adding secret organizations, some gun-play, and a hidden government agenda. Sounds like fun, no?

  • Sesame Street and More
    • The iTunes Store is offering the Learn Along With Sesame Street Series as free downloads. The series includes four episodes (Happy, Healthy, Ready For School, Music Works Wonders, You Can Ask, and Lead Away) that cover a variety of topics, from dealing with bullies, to learning about music.

  • The Dresden Files
    • Few people can make anti-stereotypes and the shows about them into cult icons, though many have tried. One of the latest attempts can be witnessed in the new SciFi Channel series, The Dresden Files.

  • Starveillance & Macworld iPhone Keynote
    • When we were in a particularly weird mood my daughter and I use to watch Celebrity Death Match on MTV. If you like your clay animation a bit less violent you might take a look at the new show, Starveillance. On a different note: Apple is also offering the Macworld iPhone keynote for download.
