AT&T Launches BlackBerry 8820 with Wi-Fi

AT&T will start selling the BlackBerry 8820 with Wi-Fi on Thursday, according to Phone Scoop. The model 8820 will feature enterprise security for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g and cost US$299.00 after rebate and a 24 month contract.

Blackberry 8820 users will be able to check e-mail and use the Internet from their corporate or home Wi-Fi networks for free. They’ll also be able to use AT&T’s national Wi-Fi network for a fee, which includes about 10,000 hotspots. It also includes Bluetooth 2, a media player, 320 x 240 pixels display and a microSD slot.


BlackBerry 8820

Several different voice and data services will be available. With a voice contract, personal e-mail and Web browsing adds US$30 per month.
