AT&T: One iPhone Per Customer
Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
It looks like AT&T is placing stricter limits on the number of iPhones customers can buy, dropping its cap from three down to one. The new policy went into effect on May 14, and also includes a prohibition on taking cash or checks for iPhone sales, according to TechRadar.
A leaked AT&T internal memo stated "Effective May 14, 2008, customers can only purchase one iPhone at AT&T stores. The prior limit of three iPhones is no longer in effect."
Apples combination iPod and smart phone is no longer available through the companys Web site in the U.S. or U.K., and O2 and Carphone Warehouse have run out of stock, too.
Analysts are expecting Apple to introduce a new version of the iPhone in the coming weeks, possibly as soon as the World Wide Developer Conference scheduled for early June. Rumored features for the next generation iPhone include 3G wireless data networking support, video chat, GPS, and more.
Apple has not commented on which features will be introduced.
