AT&T Serves Up free Wi-Fi for iPhone

AT&T began officially offering free Wi-Fi access to iPhone owners on Wednesday. iPhone users can take advantage of Wi-Fi hotspots in Starbucks locations, as well as many hotels, bookstores, restaurants, universities and event centers.

iPhone owners began receiving SMS messages today notifying them of the new perk, which presumably is available immediately. Since the free Wi-Fi offer extends only to iPhone owners, iPod touch users will still have to pay for wireless Internet access at AT&T hotspots.
