AT&T Trims Down iPhone Bills
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Following a wave of iPhone bills that in some cases had to be delivered in boxes, AT&T has decided to trim the size of its bills. The company began spreading the word about the change on Wednesday afternoon by sending text messages to iPhone users.
The text message iPhone users received stated "We are simplifying your paper bill, removing all itemized detail. To view all detail, go to att.com/mywireless. Still need full paper bill? Call 611."
Some iPhone users began complaining about the physical size of the bills they were receiving with itemized listings of all of their EDGE-based data usage. In some cases, the list could go on for hundreds of pages detailing information about text messages, Web browsing, voicemail, and email activities.
The change means that iPhone owners that opt to get a paper bill mailed to them will no longer see an itemized breakdown of their data usage. They can, however, still see a record of their iPhone data activities online, and if they need a printed version AT&T can still provide that.
