Analysts: Strong Mac Demand Should Offeset iPod Weakness

Analysts Ben Reitzes (UBS) and Gene Munster (Piper Jaffray) on Thursday issued research reports ahead of Apple’s Oct. 18 earnings conference call. Both analysts expect weaker iPod sales for the previous quarter, due to the late introduction of new models, but that dip will be offset by stronger Mac numbers, particularly due to the new MacBook. Mr. Reitzes also offered his thoughts on when Apple will again refresh its iPods, as well as expectations for the long-rumored "iPhone." Our sister site, The Mac Observer, has the full story.
