Analysts Up Apple Outlook on iPod Strength

In light of Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ revelation that the company sold 14 million iPods last quarter, a much-higher-than-expected number that helped push company revenue to a record US$5.7 billion, four analysts have revised their outlook for Apple’s stock. Merrill Lynch analyst Richard Farmer substantially increased his FY06 and FY07 expectations, while Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster, American Technology Research’s Shaw Wu and UBS’ Ben Reitzes all increased their expectations too.
