Apple Could Resolve EU/iTunes Case Within Days
Monday, January 7th, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Apples clash with the European Union over pricing at the iTunes Store may come to an end soon. The Mac and iPod maker could announce steps to resolve the case as soon as Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Following Apples announcement, the EU competition regulator is expected to announce that it is closing its case against the Cupertino-based company.
Apple found itself in the middle of an EU investigation early in 2007 after allegations surfaced that the company was violating EU regulations by limiting music and video sales based on country. The company countered that it couldnt sell media through a unified European iTunes Store because the record labels prohibited it.
Details of Apples deal with the EU have not been revealed yet, and neither Apple nor EU representatives chose to comment.
