- Massive Attack
"Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.
- Harvey Danger
The sophomore effort from Harvey Danger, I was really looking forward to this followup to "Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?" Unfortunately, "King James Version" failed to deliver any of the bri

Pressure Chief, Cake's latest album, didn't immediately grab me. In fact, it took perhaps half a dozen listens before I started truly enjoying it. Any
- Goldfrapp
On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

Apple Hosting (Music-Related) Media Event September 5th
Monday, August 27th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
Apple Inc. has begun inviting media to a media event to be held in Moscone West in San Francisco on September 5th, 2007. While Apple did not specify the event would be music-related, the image included in the invitation has a music theme, including an iPod silhouette, laid out in an iTunes cover-flow format (see the image below).
The event will be held at 10:00 AM PDT (1:00 PM EDT). iPodObserver.com and The Mac Observer will be on hand to cover the event.
Apple does not pre-announce many products, especially ones being unveiled in a media event, but the company is expected to unveil updated iPods in time for the holiday shopping season. It is possible that this could be the focus of this particular event.
