Apple Patents ‘Music Synchronization Arrangement’ For iPod

Apple has applied for a patent for what it calls a "music synchronization arrangement" that matches music played on an iPod with the pace of the listener's activity. It would work two ways: to match the listener's activity, or to set the listener's activity. It could also change a song's tempo, or enable the user to select a song based on a specific type of tempo.
A Macworld UK article notes that the technology could be part of Apple's ongoing involvement with sports, another piece of which was revealed on Tuesday when the Nike+iPod Sport Kit debuted.
