Apple Planning Pink Madonna SE iPod nano?

Several reports online, including one at AppleInsider, note growing rumors that Apple may be releasing a pink Madonna Special Edition iPod nano along the lines of the U2 Special Edition iPod introduced last year. The player will supposedly be announced during Wednesday’s special media event hosted by Apple in San Jose.

AppleInsider noted that during last month’s special media event, Madonna promoted the availability of her entire music catalog through the iTunes Music Store. She also starred in a TV ad for Motorola’s iTunes-enabled ROKR cell phone.

Rumors building for Wednesday’s event continue to be conflicted, with some news outlets swearing by the introduction of the fabled video iPod while others saying it will only feature updated desktop and laptop Macs, along with iPods that sport larger capacities and the option of a black case, but not video capability.
