Apple Q1 iPhone Sales Top 2 Million

Apple beat Wall Street’s two million iPhone unit estimates by selling 2.315 million of its combination iPod and smart phones during its first fiscal quarter for 2008. iPhone sales combined with a 17 percent increase in iPod sales helped Apple report the best quarter in the company’s history.
The company shipped 22.121 million iPods during the quarter, representing a 17 percent year-over-year increase.
Apple reported US$9.6 billion in revenue for the quarter, up 35 percent from from the same quarter last year.
