Apple Revamps iPod with 160GB Storage, New Name [Updated]

Apple announced the next generation of the iPod, now dubbed the iPod classic, at its "The Beat Goes On" media event on Wednesday. The new video-capable iPod classic will be available in 80GB and 160GB capacities.

The new models are thinner than the models they replace, sport a brushed aluminum and stainless steel body, and feature the same updated interface found on the new iPod nano including Cover Flow for viewing and selecting albums or individual songs for playback.

iPod classic also includes three pre-loaded games: iQuiz, Vortex, and Klondike. iQuiz is an entertainment trivia game, Vortex is a fast-paced 360 degree brick-bashing game, and Klondike is a solitaire card game.

Both models are available now in silver or black. The 80GB model is priced at US$249, and the 160GB model costs $349.
