Apple Sells 6.1 Million iPods in Q3

Apple Computer reported record results and record iPod sales today in 3rd Quarter financial results. The company turned in sales of US$3.52 billion (up 75 percent), profits of $320 (up 425%), and 6.155 million iPods sold (up a staggering 615 percent over the year before). That represents a few million more iPod users in the world, though many of those sales are likely to also be second or third units (such as an iPod mini or iPod shuffle) to existing customers.
