    • Wow! Perhaps my 5-star rating is simply because the Redwalls are not only new and fresh (none of them older than 22!), or perhaps its because -- despite their ages -- they are able to totally capture

Apple Stores Hosting Red Hot Chili Peppers "Listening Parties" with Free Download

Apple Computer will be hosting "listening parties" for the Red Hot Chili Peppers new album, Stadium Arcadium, at its fleet of retail stores in the UK, Canada, and the U.S. (The Japanase stores do not currently list the event). Apple will be playing all 28 of the tracks on the album, and visitors will receive a free gift certificate good for downloading the album's first single, "Dani California."

The event is being held on May 2nd, 2006, one week in advance of the release of the album on May 9th. Each store appears to have the listening party scheduled for 6:30 PM local time. Check your Apple Store's schedule for more information.

On a related note, the iTunes Music Store is offering Stadium Arcadium for pre-order (as we reported April 4th). Those who pre-order the album for $19.90 will have it automatically downloaded when it's released on May 9th. In addition, anyone who preoders the album will receive a code they can use starting May 9 to buy Red Hot Chili Peppers concert tickets from Ticketmaster.com, before they go on sale to the general public on May 13.

Thanks to Macworld UK for the heads up on the event.
