Apple Trademarks ‘Vingle;’ Curry Says Porn Video Podcasts Will Be ‘Huge’

Apple has trademarked the term "Vingle," according to MarketWatch’s Frank Barnako. He cited an article at AppleInsider that details the filing, which led Mr. Barnako to speculate that the term could lead to Apple launching a separate video version of the iTunes Music Store.
Mr. Barnako also quoted former MTV VJ Adam Curry, who coined the term "podcast," as saying in the latest edition of his Daily Source Code show that "porn is just going to be huge" in the world of video podcasts, thanks to the video iPod. "The porn guys are just going, ’holy moly,’ in gratitude for the new market that’s opened up to them," he told his listeners.
Mr. Curry also said that "video dating should happen" and that "massive changes in our media landscape" could even lead to "PDF-casting" and other new forms of communication.
