Apple Unveils App Store iPhone Ads

Apple added three new commercials to its iPhone 3G marketing campaign on Monday that highlight the iTunes-based App Store. Lonely Planet, Cro Mag and Vicinity aim to show viewers how easy it is to add new functionality to their combination iPod and smartphone with a few screen taps.

The three commercials also help show off the wide range of third-party applications available for download through the App Store. Lonely Planet highlights educational apps, Cro Mag shows off handheld games, and Vicinity highlights location-based services. The ads are available in QuickTime format at Apple’s iPhone Web site.
