Apple Updates QuickTime to 7.1 to Address "Critical Security Flaws"

Apple updated QuickTime 7 to version 7.1 Thursday, an update the company's release notes said, "delivers numerous important bug fixes and addresses critical security issues. This update is highly recommended for all QuickTime 7 users." Additional details were not posted to the update's download page.

Mac users can download the update through Mac OS X's Software Update Control Panel, or at the update's download page. It's a 49.1 MB download.

Windows users can download the update through the QuickTime Settings control panel, or through the download page. The Windows update is a 36.4 MB download.

Note that both versions will also install the latest version of iTunes.
