Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.

Apple iPhone Hardware Just a Part of the Cost
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 at 3:00 PM - by John Martellaro
The actual out of pocket costs for an iPhone, hardware, peripherals, and services for two years may be, in fact, close to US$3,000 according to Chris Seibold in a story at Apple Matters.
There are lots of additional items to consider. Cingulars monthly fee for 24 months could range from US$40 to US$200/mo. depending on monthly minutes in the plan. And then there could be additional fees for data transfer. Of course, to keep the iPhone charged, one might want an additional charger.
And maybe a case.
Mr. Seibold added it all up, including a possible fee to break your current contract, and obtained a rather startling number: close to US$3,000 over two years.
Even so, iPO notes, these are the kinds of things that one pays for anyway. An extra charger for travel, a case, and maybe a Bluetooth earpiece are items many have bought for their current phone before, including a hefty monthly service fee. How much extra one will have to pay for an iPhone over and above any other smart phone depends on the customers needs. One things is certain however. Owning an advanced mobile smart phone is an expensive proposition for anyone in 2007.
