Beck is the modern master of the groove, and Guero is merely the latest example of this. From the opening power chords of "E-Pro," to the Pac-Man cuteness of "Girl," to the dirge-like lullab

BW: In iPhone vs Android War, Apple Has First Mover Advantage

If Apple and Google had released their SDK on the same day, the outcome might have been different, according to Peter Burrows with BusinessWeek on Thursday. However, Apple has a strong head start, and that First Mover effect gives Apple the advantage.
The situation is akin to eBay. Lots of competitors have sprung up, but theyve never been able to catch up. No matter the advantages of the very open Android system, that platform could also have a tough time making headway against Apples phenomenally successful App Store.
Pandoras CTO Tom Conrad explained that as soon as they heard about the iPhone SDK, they started work on an iPhone app. At release, "The iPhone eclipsed all of our other mobile Internet partners in about 12 hours," he said. However, "... we dont have anyone working on Android. We want to be where our customers want us to be," he added.
"Network affects are very important," confirmed Jeff Holden, Pelago CEO. "Apple has a great ecosystem going with the iPhone and AppStore, and consumers go where developers go and developers go where consumers go. So being the first game in town can create a lot of advantage."
Given Apples lead, playing catch up will now be the name of the game.
