Beatles, iTunes Deal In the Works

Apple Computer and EMI Capitol Records are negotiating a deal that may bring The Beatles music library to the iTunes Store in the near future. The deal, according to CNN Money, could give Apple exclusive rights to distribute the coveted Fab Four's digital collection for a limited time.
The details are still being worked out, and there is no word on when to expect a debut on the iTunes Store. The Beatles music collection has never been available through a legal music download service, but band representatives have said that the collection would be available "soon."
There is also a possibility that negotiations could break down and kill the deal. Apple Computer and Apple Corps, The Beatles business management company, have a long history of court battles over the use of the Apple logo. Most recently, Apple Corps lost a legal battle when a London court ruled that Apple Computer could use its company name and logo in association with the iTunes Store.
After the court battle ended, Apple CEO Steve Jobs commented that he hoped that Apple Corps would bring The Beatles music library to the iTunes Store.
