Best Buy Closes Door on HD DVD
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by John Martellaro
Best Buy said on Monday that it will start to recommend Blu-ray to customers in preference to HD DVD, according to Reuters.
Best Buy said that it believes consumers will benefit from a single choice.
"Because we believe that Blu-ray is fast emerging as that single format, we have decided to focus on Blu-ray products," said Brian Dunn, Best Buys president and chief operating officer.
Best Buy will still carry both Blu-ray and HD DVD products, however starting in March Best Buy will prominently feature Blu-ray hardware and titles and start recommending Blu-ray.
