Butte College Joins iTunes U
Tuesday, July 4th, 2006 at 3:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Butte College in Oroville, California, is the latest school to join Apple's iTunes U program. According to the Oroville Mercury-Register, the school just signed a deal with Apple, and will start providing lectures and other content for download this fall.
Some instructors, like philosophy instructor Dan Barnett, have already been experimenting with podcasting on their own, so the addition of iTunes U should make their jobs easier. Many of the steps they are taking now to create podcasts will be handled by Apple's service.
Participating in iTunes U doesn't cost colleges and universities anything, and the program has proven to be successful for other schools including Stanford and UC Berkeley.
