Clarion Introduces New Car Stereos with iPod Support

LAS VEGAS -- Clarion announced Thursday at CES two new car stereo multimedia units with built-in iPod support. The VRX765VD is an upgrade to the VRX755VD, and adds support for video playback from video-capable iPods. The MAX675VD is an a new product for 2006, and includes full on-screen controls for the iPod.
The VRX765VD also includes on-screen controls for DVD playback, a motorized 7-inch display, can handle a variety of media, and the company boasted of the unit's user-friendliness (untested by iPO). The 765VD will ship in February for US$1,099.99.

The MAX675VD also features a motorized 7-inch display, but also comes with the on-screen controls for the iPod. The unit can also be coupled with other Clarion products to add a satellite radio or GPS navigation system. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the product is scheduled for a mid-2006 launch.
