Coke Teams Up with iTunes
Monday, June 26th, 2006 at 3:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Coca-Cola is working on a deal to add Coke-sponsored content to the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) only days after shutting down its U.K.-based Mycokemusic site. According to Digital Bulletin, Coca-Cola plans to offer U.K. consumers special iTMS discounts for purchasing its products.
Pepsi and Coke have used music as a marketing tool for some time now. Pepsi offered an iTunes promotion in the United Stated in 2004, and another in the United Kingdom in 2005.
Coca-Cola also has another music-related Web site, Stageside.tv, that offers recordings of live music performances and artist interviews as free downloads.
