Dell Discontinues DJ MP3 Player

Dell is succumbing to Apple's dominance in the portable digital music player market by dropping its Digital Jukebox product line. According to a Bloomberg report in the Los Angeles Times, Dell's hard drive-based MP3 players haven't been able to compete with the iPod.
Rob Enderle, president of the research firm, Enderle Group, commented "No vendor other than Apple has really stepped up to the combination of design, marketing and user experience that is required by this segment."
Dell plans to continue selling it's cheaper Flash memory-based DJ Ditty MP3 player, which is more like an iPod shuffle. It is similarly priced at US$99, but includes an FM radio.
