Some additional financial details have emerged on the home made iPod touch ad created by UK student Nick Haley, according to the New York Times on Wednesday.
On October 26th, Stuart Elliot at the NYT wrote about the experience UK student Nick Haley had with Apple, converting his self produced iPod touch ad into a nationally televised commercial, only slightly modified by TBWA/Chiat/Day.
On Wednesday, the NYT article was updated to include some of the financial details.
Apple paid for Mr. Haleys expenses to Los Angeles and while he stayed there. In addition, a spokesperson for Apple, Steve Dowling, said that, Apple "compensated him like any creative professional, for his idea and his contributions to the creative process."
In addition, Mr. Dowling added that Apple would also be "making a significant financial contribution toward his education at Leeds," where Mr. Haley is a student. Other compensation included a new MacBook Pro.
Mr. Haley described the experience working with TBWA/Chiat/Day. "My input was totally respected... [the experience was] overwhelming, surreal and fantastic, all in one," he said.
