Flyers Interested in iTunes in the Air

A recent poll conducted by Flight Global indicates that a large percentage of airline passengers would download songs from iTunes in flight if the option was available. 38 percent of the 750 poll respondents agreed that they would take advantage of the service if it were available.
Flight Global conducted the poll in response to talks between aircraft in-flight entertainment (IFE) system providers and Apple Computer. The IFE providers are hoping to develop a system with Apple that would allow passengers to purchase songs and videos from the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) and download them to their iPods while in flight.
The poll was not a scientific study, but it does show a strong consumer interest in purchasing iTMS content while traveling. Apple has not commented on the possibility of adding seat-back iTunes kiosks on planes.
