Former EA Team Scores iFund Cash
Thursday, July 31st, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Neil Youngs ngmoco managed to get some funding from Apples iFund project for iPhone application developers. Mr. Young is the former head of the Electronic Arts Blueprint studio, and he plans to use the funding to design iPhone-native games, according to Gamasutra.
ngmoco recently brought former EA CCO Bing Gordon on board as a partner and board member, adding even more gaming market expertise to the company. "Apples iPhone has the potential to be one of the best portable gaming platforms ever created," he said. "After a decade of working closely with Neil on category-defining games, I believe ngmoco has the potential to produce killer apps that will help define this new device."
Kleiner Perkins, the venture capital agency Apple teamed with to create iFund, didnt state how much money was awarded to ngmoco, and the game company didnt say when to expect to see its new products will be released.
