Gameloft Working on iPhone Games
Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Game developer Gameloft is jumping on the iPhone bandwagon with plans on releasing about 15 games for Apples handheld before the end of 2008. The first of the games should roll out by the end of June following the launch of Apples App Store.
Gameloft CEO Michel Guillemont commented "The release of the [iPhone] SDK is a tremendous opportunity for Gameloft to apply its creative and innovative approach to mobile gaming," according to dbTechno.
Apple showed off the iPhone software developer kit at a special media event on March 6 where several demonstrations showed off how the combination iPod and smart phone, along with the iPod touch, could work as a portable gaming platform.
Other companies, including EA, Sun, and Omni Group have also committed to offering iPhone-compatible software products.
