Google CEO: iPhone Perfect for Google Apps

Apple’s iPhone won’t be available to the public until June 29, but that didn’t stop Google CEO Eric Schmidt from showing his off earlier this week. Mr.Schmidt spoke about the iPhone and how well it works as a platform for Google technologies during a presentation in Paris earlier this week, according to ZDNet.
"iPhone is a powerful new device and is going to be particularly good for the apps that Google is building," he said. "You should expect other announcements from the two companies over time."
That means prospective iPhone buyers have even more to look forward to after they get one of Apple’s combination iPod and smartphones in their hands. Thanks to the iPhone’s software upgradability, users will be able to take advantage of new features and Google-related applications as they become available instead of having to purchase a new phone with the features pre-installed.
Mr. Schmidt didn’t elaborate on what his company may have in store for the iPhone, nor did he state when to expect new application or features to be announced.
