Griffin’s TuneCenter Enables iPod Control Via TV Screen
Tuesday, January 10th, 2006 at 2:00 PM - by Brad Cook
SAN FRANCISCO -- Griffin Technology on Wednesday introduced TuneCenter, a dock that not only charges an iPod but also connects it to a TV or stereo for viewing photos, slideshows and videos as well as listening to music. It comes with a 14-button remote that enables iPod owners to use their TV screens to navigate the songs and playlists on their devices.
TuneCenter includes not only S-Video, composite and RCA ports but also Ethernet and 802.11b wireless network connectivity, enabling it to stream Internet radio stations. It also has a switch for moving between NTSC (American) and PAL (European) video standards.
TuneCenter will ship in March with a US$99.99 price tag. It works with 3G, 4G and 5G iPods, as well as iPod photo, iPod mini, iPod nano and iPod U2 Special Edition.
