Indie Films for the iPod

IFC Films is planning on using the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) as a part of the marketing campaign for its latest film, according to cinematical. The film company will make the first ten minutes of Lars Von Trier's Manderlay available for free as part of a strategy to increase awareness about the movie.

The movie will be viewable on video capable iPods, as well as on computers.

If IFC's marketing experiment is successful, look to see more independent film companies striking up deals with Apple, too.
