Jax Pimps Your iPod from the Inside Out
Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 at 2:00 PM - by Ricky Spero
San Francisco, CA -- Prosoft Engineering has announced Jax for iPod, an iTunes plugin that wildly extends the iPod's capabilities. In addition to some fairly simple, useful tools, it also includes some wild and slick features. Even better, it's modular, and Prosoft is planning to add many new features in the months after its release.
Jax's workaday features include a configurable visulalizer and some helpful tools for getting album art and lyrics. It will also grab weather, stock, movie listing, and gas price information to deposit on your iPod.
The slicker features, though, include the ability to drag and drop videos from YouTube or Google Video directly to your iPod. Another slick feature uses a spacial map to help you research music artists, and learn the members of bands, which musicians collaborated with whom, and so on.

Jax for iPod will ship in February, and is also available for download. It is priced at US$49
