When I first got hooked to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the only place I could get their debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, was through the band's Web site. I listened to the two tracks a

John Lennon Joins the Digital Age Without iTunes
Wednesday, November 9th, 2005 at 2:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
The solo works of former Beatle John Lennon are going to be available as legal digital downloads through most online music services, but not at the iTunes Music Store, according to The Times. The long running legal dispute between Apple Computer and Apple Corps is at the root of the shut-out.
The legal dispute dates back to 1981 when The Beatles copyright management firm, Apple Corps, sued Apple Computer claiming the Mac (at that time, the Apple II) maker didn't have the right to use the Apple name. The two companies agreed to a settlement that let the computer maker use the name as long as it stayed out of the music business.
With the advent of iTunes and the iTunes Music Store (iTMS), the trademark battle flared again, and is now a pending case in the British courts.
Until the legal dispute is settled, Yoko Ono and EMI records will not allow any of John Lennon's works to appear on the iTMS. Currently, none of The Beatles recordings are available on the iTMS, either.
The Beatles and John Lennon aren't the only big names missing from the iTMS. Led Zeppelin, the Eagles and Sir Elton John, are absent as well.
For those looking for a Beatles fix at the iTMS, there are cover versions of some songs by other bands, along with an extensive collection of Ringo Starr's solo works.
