San Francisco - The cell carriers Apple has teamed with to bring the iPhone 3G to countries around the world are finally able to be a little less coy about their deals and have begun announcing that that the combination iPod and smartphone will be available in their markets on July 11. Apples iPhone 3G will initially be available in 22 markets when it hits store shelves next month.
iPhone 3G will be available in the markets that the first generation iPhone is currently sold in, including the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Ireland, and Austria.
New markets for the July 11 launch include Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The 3G iPhone will sport 3G and EDGE wireless data networking, a built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, iPhone Software 2.0, and more.
Additional markets will get their own iPhone 3G launches in the coming months.
