MacPractice Releases iPhone Interface
Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at 3:00 PM - by John Martellaro
MacPractice announced on Monday their iPhone Interface to their MacPractice medical practice management software. The interface allows a doctor, via VPN, to connect to his office system, check his schedule, patient records and prescription history.
"Today we are leveraging an innovative, unique Apple technology again to put new productivity enhancing tools literally in the hands of physicians, dentists, chiropractors and optometrists on iPhones, and on Mac and PC computers as well," said MacPractice president Mark Hollis.

The iPhone Interface, which can also be used in Safari on any Mac or PC desktop, portable or tablet computer, requires MacPractice MD, DC, DDS, or 20/20, version 3.1. MacPractice recommends that users set up a VPN. Additional features planned for this Interface include accessing management reports, reviewing planned treatment, posting charges, and requesting contact from the staff to make an appointment.
The introductory price for the iPhone Interface is US$800 and a required annual maintenance fee of $200. Those who purchase the interface with one of the MacPractice suites or purchased a suite after November 1st, 2007 are eligible for a $300 discount.
