    • "Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.

    • Mystics Anonymous is the brainchild project of Jeff Steblea, a fantastic songwriter and good friend of mine, as well. In fact, I even played the drums on all but one of the tracks on this album. Jef

    • Goldfrapp
    • On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

Maroon 5 Tops iTunes Best Sellers for 2007

Apple’s iTunes Store is one of the most popular places to purchase music, and in 2007 Maroon 5’s It Won’t Be Soon Before Long turned out to be the most popular album to buy through iTunes. Along with Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, and Daughtry all produced top selling albums at the iTunes Store.

The complete list of the top ten best selling albums included:

  • Maroon 5 - It Won’t Be Soon Before Long
  • Amy Winehouse - Back To Black
  • Kanye West - Graduation

  • Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
  • Various Artists - High School Musical 2 (Original Soundtrack)
  • Timbaland - Shock Value
  • John Mayer - Continuum
  • Various Artists - Hairspray (Soundtrack to the Motion Picture)

Apple’s list of the top ten best selling singles at the iTunes Store includes several of the same artists, too:

  • Fergie - "Big Girls Don’t Cry (Personal)"
  • Gwen Stefani - "The Sweet Escape"
  • Plain White T’s - "Hey There Delilah"
  • Avril Lavigne - "Girlfriend"

Earlier this week, the uber-popular band Radiohead revealed that it is negotiating with Apple to bring its new In Rainbows album to the iTunes store without first attaching the album to a recording label.

The iTunes Store offers individual songs as copy protected 128kbps or 256kbps unprotected tracks for US$0.99 each. The online store offers over six million song tracks from a wide range of artists and labels.
