McAfee: JavaScript Bug Crashes iPhone

Computer security product developer McAfee is reporting that a JavaScript bug could allow a maliciously crafted Web page launch a Denial of Service on an iPhone running software version 1.1.3. So far, only a proof of concept has been developed, but the test site it is used in consistently causes the iPhone to lock up and eventually reboot.
The potential security flaw was discovered when a group of researchers were looking for ways to jailbreak iPhones running software version 1.1.3. Jailbreaking allows users to install third-party applications that Apple has not approved.
Users can protect their iPhone from the potential threat by disabling JavaScript on their handheld which means any site using Java code will be at least partially inoperative. Apple will likely release a security update that fixes the problem, but as a policy does not state when patches will be available.
