Meridian Launches iPod i80 Dock for F80 Sound System

Meridian has launched the i80 iPod/iPhone dock for their luxury, ultimate portable sound system the F80.
"The iPod is not really capable of offering the same sense of experience that a high quality audio system can. With the i80 dock we are marrying together the convenience that the iPod offers with our expertise in sound quality and engineering," said Meridian technical director Bob Stuart.

The i80 dock connects to the F80 simply and neatly, allowing immediate and complete control of the music library stored on the iPod through the F80 remote control or its front panel buttons. In addition, the track information is relayed via the F80s exceptionally clear OLED display so the user can easily see the playlist or song is playing.
The i80 also charges the iPod with no need for extra power cables. Furthermore, when connected to the F80 system, intelligent conversion technology actively processes compressed music formats on your iPod or iPhone and reveals more of the original recording, helping your music sound its best.
According to AudioJunkies.com, the F80 is considered the Ferrari of music systems.
The i80 dock is expected to ship in August. It is priced at US$399. The F80 sound system and i80 dock bundled together are priced at US$3,395.
