Mobistar Caps Belgium iPhone 3G Data Plans

Apple’s iPhone 3G will be going on sale in Belgium on July 11, and like many other markets, will include tight caps on wireless data that top out at 1GB. The combination iPod and smartphone will be sold through Mobistar, but Belgian law prohibits locked cell phones, so users can take their iPhone to any of the countries cell carriers.

For €30, customers will get three talk hours, 300 text messages and 200MB of data. Six talk hours, 600 text messages, and 500MB of data will cost €45, and nine talk hours, 900 text messages and 1GB of data costs €60.

Since Belgian law prohibits selling cell phones below cost, users will pay €525 (about US$825.81) for the 8GB iPhone 3G, and €615 (about $967.38) for the 16GB model.
