Nav Clock Duplicates Desktop Time & Weather Station

Split Rail has released Nav Clock, an iPhone app thatis based on the multi-function clocks and weather stations typically on a small desktop LCD display.
Features include:
- Location aware. Weather information is gathered automatically from reported weather conditions in your vicinity using GPS, cellular, or Wi-Fi location finding services.
- Fast weather information acquisition.
- The background sky conditions change based upon the current weather conditions and the current time of day in your vicinity.
- Gorgeous original photography of various sky conditions.
- Displays the time and location, offset from Greenwich Mean Time, aviation "Zulu" time, geographic coordinates, altitude (iPhone 3G only - best if outside), location accuracy, and basic weather for your location.
- Several user preferences for the display of information.

On an iPhone 2G, Latitude and Longitude are obtained with location services. If Google maps cannot locate the user, neither can Nav Clock. This reporter found that the location computed via Wi-Fi on an iPhone 2G was very good. However, as noted above, without a hardware GPS in the iPhone 3G, elevation above sea level is not available.
Nav Clock 1.01 requires iPhone 2.0 software, iPhone or iPod touch. It is priced at US$1.99.
