New Levi’s Jeans Integrate iPod Controls

Levi’s, the company that made the number 501 one of the most popular in the world, announced Tuesday that it will begin shipping a new pair of jeans with iPod support in the fall.
The RedWire DLX jeans, designed for both men and women, features an iPod docking cradle "invisibly" housed inside a side pocket, while a small joystick in the watch pocket allows users to control their iPod. The four-way controls allow the wearer to easily play/pause, track forward, track back and adjust the volume control without ever removing the iPod from the pocket.
A retractable headphone unit has also been built-in to the jeans to help prevent cable tangles and manage the iPod earphone wires.
Levi’s says the new RedWire DLX jeans "have been developed to be practical and leading-edge in their aesthetic." A white leather patch and joystick, bluffed back pockets with hidden stitching, and clean minimalist buttons and designed to complement the iPod’s aesthetics. Despite the technology, the jeans are machine washable once the iPod is removed.
Levi’s did not provide either pricing or photos of the jeans.
