New Pioneer Receivers Offer iPod Connectivity

Pioneer on Friday announced that its new VSX-74TXVi (US$1,500) and VSX-72TXV ($1,200) A/V receivers feature the ability to connect to an iPod as well as up to 17 other devices, including XM Satellite Radio Connect and Play antennas, video game systems and more. An included remote control enables users to switch between various audio and video sources.
When used with an iPod, the Pioneer receivers display playlists, songs, artists and genres on their 14-character displays, or on a TV screen. Listeners can use the remote control to navigate through music. Both receivers feature Pioneer's Advanced Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration, which customizes sound output for the dimensions of the room, compensating for high or low ceilings, hardware floors versus carpet and so forth. Presets enable users to change the settings depending on the specific situation.
