New Report Points to August iTunes Music Store Japan Launch

A brief AFX News Limited story notes that Apple will launch its iTunes Music Store in Japan in August, echoing previous reports.
The story adds that music label Avex has been tapped by Apple to supply music for the first, marking the first major Japanese record label to do so.
A June 7, 2005 story in the Nihon Keizai daily newspaper reported that the iTunes Music Store was slated to open in Japan in August. One day later, another story noted that Apple Japan was still in negotiations with labels and that no firm launch date had been set.
Apple has previously said on many occasions that the iTunes Music Store will open in Japan in 2005.
