New Survey Reveals iPhone Likes and Dislikes

A survey by the ChangeWave Alliance has shown that early purchasers of the iPhone are more satisfied with their iPhone than any other phone ever surveyed by the group. What customers liked the most was the integration of the phone, iPod and browser in one unit. What they disliked the most was the speed of the AT&T EDGE network.

While the sample size was small, the population sampled was from ChangeWave Alliance members, and those members tend to be severe critics of new technologies that don’t measure up. Seeking Alpha carried the story on the results Thursday.

The key finding was that 77 percent of iPhone purchaser said they were Very Satisfied with their cell phone. The next highest rating ever achieved was the RIM BlackBerry at 50 percent.

In the category of what customers liked best about their iPhone, the Integration of the phone, music, and broiwser function was cited by 66 percent, folowed by the touchscreen interface (45%), ease of use (22%), and the screen size (16%).

In the category of what customers liked least about their iPhone, the Speed of the EDGE network was first by 35 percent, followed by the inability to copy and paste (23%), no support for 3rd party software (23%) and absense of Java applications(19%).

The survey also asked the customers about the most desirable new feature. The response was, in order, voice recognition, personalizing features, and GPS. Eighty-nine percent of the customers said they would recommend the iPhone to a colleague.
