Apple on Tuesday announced that the entire catalog of the Dave Matthews Band has been added to iTunes, along with the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, Stadium Arcadium, and a special offer for the bands concert tickets. This is the first time Dave Matthews Band fans have been able to download individual tracks from an online store; the groups albums are US$9.99 each.
iTunes users can also preorder Stadium Arcadium for $19.90 and have it automatically downloaded when its released on May 9. In addition, anyone who preoders the album will receive a code they can use starting May 9 to buy Red Hot Chili Peppers concert tickets from Ticketmaster.com, before they go on sale to the general public on May 13.
On May 9, anyone who preordered Stadium Arcadium will also receive more Red Hot Chili Peppers content, including an audio interview with the band, a video chronciling the making of the single "Dani California," and a color digital booklet. Later this month, iTunes will start selling a collection of the bands music videos, including the one for "Dani California."
Finally, as iLounge reported but Apple neglected to mention in its press release, those who preorder Stadium Arcadium will be entered in a drawing to win a limited edition 60GB Red Hot Chili Peppers iPod. The iPod will have the bands logo and signatures etched on the back, similar to the U2 Special Edition iPod, although Apple hasnt indicated it will come with a unique color scheme. Neither the iTunes Music Store nor Apples official sweepstakes rules note if the winner gets to choose a black or white iPod.
