Nissan Releases iPod Car Navigation System

Nissan announced Wednesday it has started marketing a car navigation system that allows drivers to connect an iPod to select Nissan vehicles.
The Kyodo news agency reports, "the new navigation system, backed by a designated iPod connector, gives drivers in-car control of their iPods through its 7-inch touch screen display."
The system, which sells for US$2,788, features Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service and also allows drivers to play compact discs, mini discs and DVDs. CARWINGS is a Bluetooth-based system for select Nissan vehicles, offering enhanced GPS and entertainment features and 24 hour telephone operator assistance.
