No Apple v Apple Ruling Before Easter

Closing arguments in the ongoing legal battle between Apple Corps and Apple Computer wrapped up on Wednesday, but the Judge presiding over the case is not likely to offer a ruling before Easter, which is April 16. Apple Corps took Apple Computer to court in London claiming that the Mac and iPod maker violated an agreement in 1991 that prevents it from using the Apple logo to sell music.

According to the Daily Press, Edward Mann, the Judge presiding over the case, reserved his judgment for an unnamed date, but stated that it was unlikely to be before the court's Easter break.

Geoffrey Vos, the lawyer for Apple Corps, stated that Apple Computer is a "Johnny-Come-Lately" trying to steal the trademark from the recording label owned by the Beatles.

The lawyer for Apple Computer, Anthony Grabiner, claims that the company isn't doing anything wrong, and that music buyers are smart enough to distinguish between the two company logos.

Apple Corps logo is a photographic green apple, and Apple Computer uses a stylized two-dimensional apple with a bite taken out of one side.
