O2 Revamps iPhone Contract Fees

British cell carrier O2 announced on Tuesday that it is restructuring the fees for all of its cell plans including Apple’s iPhone. The company is simplifying its offerings by moving to six price points with different text and minute bundles, which means iPhone users with £35 contracts will get about three times as many talk minutes and double the SMS messages without seeing a rate increase.

iPhone users that currently subscribe to the £55 plan can opt for a £10 per month discount, or move to the £75 plan that includes 3,000 minutes and 500 texts a month. Unlimited data and free access to The Cloud’s Wi-Fi hotspots is still included for free.

O2’s new tariff structure goes into effect on February 1.
